Thoughts from Emory

The warm greeting by Deacon Connie and Maria del Carmen from the Diocese of Honduras at the airport.... That first meeting on Friday night at Eglesia Episcopal Cristo Redentor where parishioners opened their hearts to us and shared their dessert... The man at St. Lucia who invited me to pray with him in his church... All of the people walking along the sides of the road with their heavy burdens... Making stronger connections with the youth and adults in our Trinity Mission... Don Carlos our bus driver who has the patience of Job and the ability to get into places I wouldn't even attempt... Church this morning with all of the joyful music, and more hugs and kisses than you could imagine... Ruth Anne celebrating the Eucharist in Spanish and making us all proud... Meeting a missionary from my birth state of South Carolina and meeting another mission group from St Andrew's Episcopal Church in Mount Pleasant, SC... The kids at El Hogar "the home for abandoned, orphaned and hopelessly poor children" in Tegucigalpa; being welcomed openly by joyful children who were so excited to see us; being invited to join in a game of basketball by Martin; feeling called to rearrange the priorities in my own life... Worshiping and reflecting with such a wonderful and insightful group of Trinity Youth...
