The group made 125 sandwiches for tomorrow's project to feed children of Villa Nueva, an outreach in an impoverished community on the outskirts of Tegucigalpa.
The sandwich building begins- Toasting a job well done, and looking forward to tomorrow.
What a surprise and delight to read of your youth mission trip to Honduras!
My church goes to El Hogar every summer so I especially enjoyed reading about the orphanage. Aren't those kids amazing?! They have so little but willing share all that they have: love and hugs!
Sure puts our priorites into question. Please soak up all this love, light and lessons to bring back to needy NYC. We in the USA have "poverty of the soul" instead of poverty of worldly goods. Be empowered to make a real difference in the lives of others less fortunate than you. Can't you feel your heart expanding?!
Enjoy the journey! connie merrick
(In case you wonder who the heck i am... I was a regular Ground Zero volunteer who sign language interprets the services in St. Paul's Chapel every 9/11. Going to Honduras after "Those Days" helped me more than it helped the kids at El Hogar, i must admit!)
Dear Friends - We are thinking about you and sending love from NYC. You are all missed but we love seeing the fantastic work you are doing in Honduras. Can not wait to hear all the "good news" about the trip when you are safely home. Until then you are in our thoughts and prayers - Love, Donna, David and Alessandro Laterza XOXOXOXO
What I've seen and read is amazing. This is truly an inspiring experience for all of you and with your blogs, I feel as if I am on the journey with you. Darius I am very proud of you. Everything you all are saying and doing matters, not just today, but for many years to come. Relish in the moment for you all are pleasing God and no greater gift can be given. Hugs and kisses for Darius and my Trinity family. Love Damaris
